We keep client and candidate identities confidential to protect active searches. Verifiable references are provided on request during live engagements.
Most of our searches are confidential. A contractor replacing a project manager or opening a new service branch usually does not want that known, and a superintendent exploring a move does not want a current employer to find out. Publishing names, quotes or company logos would put those people at risk.
We also don't post star ratings or quotes we can't stand behind. Instead, when you are seriously considering working with us, we put you in touch with real people who can answer your questions directly.
We match the reference to what you need to know. A hiring manager at a mechanical contractor usually wants to talk to another contractor. A candidate usually wants to talk to someone who went through the same process.
Fill in the form on this page with your name, work email, your role and what you would like to verify. We read every request and follow up personally.
Before we share anyone's contact details, we ask that person for permission. Once they agree, we introduce you by email or phone, and the conversation is between you and them. We don't sit in on reference calls or script them.
If the right reference isn't available because of an active confidential search, we will tell you that instead of substituting someone less relevant.
If you are an employer, ask how well the candidates matched the role as written: the trade, the type of work (plan-and-spec, design-build, service, controls) and the size of projects. Ask how candid the recruiter was about a candidate's gaps, and how the search went after the offer was accepted.
If you are a candidate, ask whether the recruiter described the job, the pay range and the employer accurately before the first interview. Ask whether they were kept informed when things went quiet, and whether their resume was ever sent somewhere without their say-so.
References are people with jobs and active projects of their own. We don't publish their names, share their details without their permission, or ask them to take more than a short call. Read more about how we handle personal information on our Trust & Security page.
