The Atlanta chapter runs chapter events, research promotion, Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA), student activities, and scholarship and design-competition programs.
ASHRAE chapters are the local arm of the society. Members meet in their own region for technical programs, continuing education and networking with engineers, contractors, building operators and manufacturers' reps.
Technical meetings
Most chapters hold regular meetings during the program year with a technical presentation, often eligible for professional development hours.
CTTC
The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee runs local technical programs, seminars and the chapter's recognition of high-performance building projects.
Student branches
Chapters sponsor student branches at nearby engineering schools and support scholarships and career events.
Research Promotion
Chapters raise funds for ASHRAE research that feeds the society's standards and handbooks.
Grassroots Government Activities
Chapters track local building-code and energy-policy issues and connect members with policymakers.
Certifications
ASHRAE offers professional certifications such as BEMP, BCxP, HBDP, HFDP and OPMP; chapters often host review courses or exam-prep sessions.
