Job Title: Commercial HVAC Start-up and Service Technician

Location: Oakland, CA

Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Commercial HVAC Start-Up and Service Technician to join our esteemed Service Department. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience in servicing large rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers, along with proficiency in system commissioning and start-up. A local candidate with a stable work history is highly preferred. As part of our team, you'll bring an unwavering commitment to customer service and a high level of competence and expertise in the HVAC industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform start-ups, commissioning, service, and maintenance for HVAC systems, including chillers, air handling systems, DX packaged units, VFD startups, motors, pumps, and humidification/dehumidification equipment.
  2. Conduct factory-certified startups and provide warranty support.
  3. Inspect, diagnose, and repair new or existing cooling towers, returning them to original operating conditions.
  4. Perform regular service checks, troubleshooting to detect and resolve problems, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  5. Work with our parts team to facilitate the ordering and delivery of necessary components.
  6. Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure comprehensive customer service.
  7. Deliver exceptional customer service, paying keen attention to even the smallest details.
  8. Conduct free comparative inspections and evaluations to determine equipment conditions and recommend appropriate solutions.
  9. Maintain compliance with all safety and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of five years of experience in commercial HVAC service and start-up commissioning.
  2. Proven experience with large rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
  3. Proficiency in servicing air handling systems, DX packaged units, VFD startups, motors, pumps, and humidification/dehumidification equipment.
  4. Factory training or certification in cooling tower repair is highly preferred.
  5. Strong understanding of HVAC systems and operations.
  6. Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.
  7. Stable work history in the local area.
  8. Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
