Job Overview
We seek a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Los Angeles, CA, to lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, including chillers, boilers, hydronic piping, duct work, and building automation integrations. This role is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects, utilizing advanced design tools and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical system design for large commercial HVAC projects, including chilled water, hot water, VRF, and air distribution systems.
  • Develop and review detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and project specifications.
  • Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis to optimize system efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure seamless design and installation integration.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred; advanced leadership training or industry certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam for mechanical system modeling and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Title 24, and California Mechanical Code compliance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Los Angeles HVAC standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • Local and stable work history with a proven track record in commercial mechanical design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
  • LEED AP certification or experience with sustainable HVAC design.
