Key Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC system design for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE standards, Title 24, and local California building codes.
- Oversee preconstruction activities, including system conceptualization, budgeting, and value engineering, to optimize project efficiency.
- Develop detailed 3D models and construction drawings in Revit, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration.
- Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and constructability in mechanical system designs.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to align mechanical system designs with project schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred; a PE license is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in HVAC system design and mechanical construction, with a strong emphasis on preconstruction.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for mechanical system modeling and coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Title 24, and California building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Local and stable work history in the commercial mechanical construction industry.
