Job Title: Energy Solutions Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

Overview:

We're looking for an Energy Solutions Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA, dedicated to improving building energy performance through innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of analytical skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to promoting energy-efficient practices within the built environment. This role will involve tackling diverse projects aimed at enhancing energy utilization and promoting sustainable practices in building operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and refine control sequences to enhance the energy efficiency of high-performance buildings.

  • Execute field commissioning and adopt monitoring-based commissioning approaches for ongoing efficiency optimization.

  • Analyze building operation and utility data to uncover opportunities for energy savings.

  • Conduct comprehensive energy assessments and audits, facilitating EnergyStar certifications for eligible projects.

  • Play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of energy projects, including measurement and verification activities to quantify savings.

  • Utilize fault detection software to identify and rectify energy inefficiencies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote energy management practices and integrate renewable energy systems where feasible.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.

  • Demonstrated experience with ASHRAE energy calculations, understanding of building mechanical systems, and familiarity with building codes and standards.

  • Proficiency in computer programming for data analysis and visualization, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and inform decision-making processes.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously.

  • A local candidate or willing to relocate to Seattle, WA.


Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE), or in the process of obtaining.

  • A strong foundation in Direct Digital Control (DDC) theory, advanced energy management practices, and knowledge of renewable energy technologies.
