Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards.
- Lead safety training sessions, including teaching the OSHA 30 class, to educate employees on safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety on all construction sites.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Stay current with industry safety standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Must be a local candidate with a stable work history.
- A minimum of three years of commercial construction safety experience.
- Experience working for general contractors, mechanical contractors, electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, or other relevant construction trades.
- Proven experience with ground-up construction projects, particularly in hospitals, schools, airports, high-rises, hotels, and arenas.
- Possession of an OSHA 500 certification is mandatory.
- Ability to teach the OSHA 30 class.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Additional certifications in construction safety or related fields.
- Experience in managing multiple construction sites simultaneously.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
