Job Summary
We seek an experienced and highly skilled Chiller Technician to join our San Jose, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a local, stable work history and possess over five years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of chillers, including air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, and centrifugal units. This role also demands proficiency in diagnosing and repairing large rooftop units (RTUs), boilers, and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, ensuring optimal system performance in commercial settings.

Responsibilities
  • Chiller Maintenance & Repair: Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, and centrifugal chillers.
  • Large RTU Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair large rooftop units (RTUs) ranging from 20 to 200+ tons to ensure efficient operation and system longevity.
  • Boiler & Mechanical System Repair: Service and repair commercial boilers and other significant mechanical systems within HVAC setups.
  • VRF Systems Expertise: Diagnose and repair Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems as part of overall HVAC maintenance and service.
  • Manufacturer-Specific Knowledge: Utilize knowledge from manufacturer training (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, etc.) to deliver exceptional service quality.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with industry standards in every task.
  • Documentation & Client Communication: To guarantee satisfaction, maintain precise service records, deliver detailed reports, and communicate effectively with clients.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chiller service, repair, and teardown.
  • EPA Universal Certification is required.
  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing large RTUs (20-200+ tons), boilers, VRF systems, and other significant HVAC equipment.
  • Manufacturer training and certifications (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, etc.) are highly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • A clean driving record is required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be a local candidate with a stable work history.
