Join our dynamic Critical Facilities team as a Building Automation Controls Technician in Portland, OR. This position is essential for maintaining and enhancing building automation systems, requiring collaboration with project engineers and providing technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute start-up functions for building control systems based on project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of building control system performance at an individual building level.
  • Use building automation programs and features efficiently, including trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, system backups, and user interface graphics.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout and start-up of DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) components.
  • Commission building control systems and execute field changes and directives effectively.
  • Troubleshoot software, components, and equipment issues, providing timely and accurate solutions.
  • Manage time efficiently to complete assignments on time and within budget.
Qualifications
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and a high level of computer hardware and software proficiency.
  • In-depth knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised with excellent interactive skills.
  • AA degree in applied technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant military experience.
  • Experience in computer programming, building mechanical systems, electronics, and basic electrical circuits.
  • Mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Requirements
  • Local and stable work history is essential.
  • Ability to train others and provide clear, concise field documentation.
  • Proven experience in executing start-up and commissioning tasks for building control systems.
  • Solid understanding of building automation programs and system performance analysis.
