Job Title: BAS Critical Facilities Technician
Location: Portland, OR

Overview

The BAS Critical Facilities Technician is an integral member of the Critical Facilities team, responsible for the efficient and effective execution of start-up functions on mechanical systems and the analysis of building control systems' performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of building automation systems, including Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and will be adept at troubleshooting and implementing field changes.

Key Responsibilities
Execute start-up functions on mechanical systems according to project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Conduct performance analysis of building control systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
Efficiently use building automation programs and features, such as trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, system back-ups, and user interface graphics.
Perform point-to-point checkout of DDC and PLC components and make minor modifications to existing programs as needed.
Troubleshoot software, component, and equipment problems, providing practical solutions.
Maintain clear and updated field documentation, including as-built drawing sets, project checkout sheets, and UL Panel Tags.
Assist Project Engineers and Critical Facilities team members with various field tasks and coordination.
Manage time efficiently to complete assignments on time and within budget.
Qualifications
AA degree in applied technology or equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant military experience.
Proven troubleshooting skills, particularly in mechanical and electrical systems.
High level of computer hardware and software skills.
Knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications.
Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
Solid communication and interactive skills.
Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
Computer programming experience desired.
Building mechanical system experience desired.
Local and stable work history.
Skills and Expertise
Proficiency in building automation systems, including Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, Bacnet, Trane, and Schneider Electric.
Technical proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Project, Trimble AutoBid, and Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
