Job Title: Automation Technician – Allen-Bradley PLC
Location: San Jose, CA

Job Summary
We seek a skilled Automation Technician with expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC systems to support commercial building automation projects in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC control systems to ensure seamless building system operation. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley platforms and other related automation technologies, offering innovative solutions to enhance system performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix) and associated systems.
  • Implement system adjustments and optimize PLC performance to meet commercial building automation requirements.
  • Assist in installing, programming, and commissioning new PLC systems as part of integrated building automation projects.
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality service and meet project timelines.
  • Provide on-site technical support and training to building staff, ensuring users understand system operations and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain detailed records of interventions, updates, and system modifications, ensuring adherence to local safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems in commercial environments, including programming and diagnostics with Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk.
  • Proficient in programming Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, and Function Block Diagram. Familiarity with SCADA platforms such as Ignition and Wonderware is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of integrating PLCs with commercial building systems.
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues independently.
  • Technical certification or an associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Jose, CA, area.
Preferred Expertise
  • Rockwell Automation: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix.
  • Programming Platforms: Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, Modicon, EcoStruxure Control Expert, and EcoStruxure Power SCADA Operation.
  • SCADA Systems: Ignition and AVEVA System Platform (formerly Wonderware).
