Tell us who you need and where. We recruit for commercial mechanical contractors across HVAC, plumbing, piping and building controls.
Commercial mechanical contractors across the Phoenix metro, including Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler and Glendale, use Gulfstream to open confidential searches for estimators, project managers, superintendents, service managers and building controls leaders. Send the role, market and a contact above, and we follow up to confirm scope, schedule and must-have experience before the search starts.
Arizona demand runs through data centers, semiconductor fabs, healthcare and large commercial work, where chilled water plants, VRF systems and DDC/BACnet controls drive hiring. We screen for the project type, tonnage and system experience your role actually needs.
We work with signatory mechanical, plumbing, piping and sheet metal contractors to fill both salaried staff roles (estimators, project managers, project engineers, superintendents, VDC/BIM leads and operations managers) and union-covered field roles. Every search works within your collective bargaining agreement and your local's referral rules.
Candidates who came up through a UA or SMART apprenticeship often know your agreements, jurisdictions and crew dynamics. We look for that background when a role calls for it.
Phoenix is one market among many. We take job orders from union contractors almost everywhere in the U.S., and have recently filled roles in Portland, Oregon, Dallas, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, Honolulu, Hawaii, the San Francisco Bay Area, Reno, Nevada, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
Union contractors use us for the seats a hall doesn't dispatch: estimators, project managers, project engineers, superintendents, VDC/BIM leads, service managers and operations leaders, often people who already know your agreements because they came up through the trade. We also support union-covered field searches within your collective bargaining agreement and your local's referral rules.
One job order can cover the greater Phoenix area and nearby Arizona markets such as Tucson. If a candidate would relocate or the role spans multiple regions, note it in the form and we will search accordingly.
Union and merit-shop contractors can submit a job order for any of the markets below. Each market page shows its live openings and the union halls based there.
No. Gulfstream is a search firm. We place direct-hire employees onto your payroll, salaried or union-covered. We don't supply crews, contract labor, or dispatched workers from a hall. If a job needs covered field labor through your local, that referral runs through the hall; we fill the seats you hire directly.
It depends on the role, the market and the pay. We set expectations on the first call and update you as the search moves. Submitting a job order starts the conversation: we confirm scope, must-have experience and schedule before any outreach begins.
Nothing to submit. Fees are 100% employer-paid and candidates never pay. Most searches run on contingency, so you pay only when you hire. For executive or confidential roles we also offer retained search, scoped and priced with you up front.
No. We work with both signatory and merit-shop mechanical contractors, and Gulfstream is independent of any union or local. Where a role sits under a collective bargaining agreement, we screen and present within that agreement and your local's referral rules.
Commercial mechanical construction only: HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal and building controls. That covers salaried staff such as estimators, project managers and engineers, superintendents, service and operations managers, and VDC/BIM and controls leads, plus union-covered field roles.
Not unless you or the candidate say so. Searches are confidential by default: client identity is not shared with candidates, and candidate identity is not shared with clients, until both sides agree to an interview.
We reply during business hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific. Closed Saturday and Sunday. If your role is time-sensitive, say so in the message and include a phone number so we can call instead of email.
