Job Title: Principal Plumbing Engineer Location: Santa Monica, CA
Summary We seek a Principal Plumbing Engineer to lead and manage plumbing design projects for commercial, multi-family, and facilities. This position involves overseeing technical testing, maintaining product specifications and standards compliance, and fostering long-term client relationships. As a key player in our engineering team, you'll deliver innovative solutions, provide construction phase support, and guide multidisciplinary teams toward successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee plumbing system design for various building types, ensuring client needs, project budgets, and schedules are met.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, addressing their needs and providing exceptional service.
Collaborate with project teams during construction to ensure designs are accurately implemented and issues are resolved efficiently.
Conducted and managed tests on materials and equipment, ensuring adherence to all required specifications and standards.
Mentor and supervise project teams, promoting collaboration and achieving project objectives on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or completed coursework in Plumbing Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience designing plumbing systems in consulting engineering or engineering/architectural
Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit (preferred).Strong computer skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
Demonstrated experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, multi-family, and facility projects.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills
Ability to analyze project challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
Experience working closely with architects and contractors to achieve seamless project delivery.
Knowledge of local codes and standards in plumbing system design.
