Job Summary
We seek a highly experienced and strategic Mechanical Construction Preconstruction Lead to lead our preconstruction efforts in Los Angeles, CA. This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive mechanical engineering, design, and project management expertise within the mechanical contracting industry. The position focuses on overseeing preconstruction activities for large-scale projects, including plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee mechanical preconstruction efforts, ensuring high-quality planning and execution.
Collaborate with senior project teams to develop and refine comprehensive mechanical system designs and preconstruction strategies.
Perform in-depth technical analyses of mechanical systems, including plumbing, piping, and HVAC, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to design and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Developed and managed detailed project budgets, schedules, and cost estimates for mechanical systems.
Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design feasibility, compliance, and overall project readiness.
Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Lead the preparation and presentation of technical reports, proposals, and high-level project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
To develop and optimize mechanical system designs, utilize advanced industry software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other preconstruction applications.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
EIT or PE license preferred but not mandatory.
Local candidates with a stable work history are highly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in design, engineering, project management, or preconstruction for a mechanical contractor.
Extensive experience managing large-scale projects, particularly those focusing on plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
In-depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and construction methodologies in mechanical engineering.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-specific tools for mechanical system design and preconstruction planning.
