Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Preconstruction

Overview
We seek a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design efforts, support preconstruction activities, and drive technical excellence in commercial mechanical construction projects. This role requires Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical system design expertise for large-scale commercial and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HVAC system design for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, energy codes, and client specifications.
  • Manage pre-construction activities to support project bidding and planning, including system conceptualization, budgeting, and value engineering.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and drawings in Revit and coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to optimize system layouts.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and designers, reviewing designs for accuracy, efficiency, and constructability.
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into overall project execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. PE license preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in HVAC system design and mechanical construction, focusing on preconstruction.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for mechanical system modeling and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Title 24, and local building codes in California.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Local and stable work history in the commercial mechanical construction industry.
