Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design for commercial HVAC projects, including chilled water, hot water, VRF, and air distribution systems.
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE standards, Title 24, and California Mechanical Code.
- Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure seamless integration of design and installation.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and industry best practices.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred; advanced leadership training or industry certifications are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial HVAC systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam for mechanical system modeling and documentation.
- Strong understanding of California building codes, ASHRAE standards, and Title 24 compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of Orange County HVAC regulations and construction standards.
- Local and stable work history with a proven track record in commercial mechanical design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
- LEED AP certification or experience with sustainable HVAC design.
