Summary:
Join our expanding team in Orange, CA, as a PLC Mechanic specializing in Programmable Logic Control (PLC). This position ensures equipment uptime through efficient troubleshooting, with a strong working knowledge of all operating systems in the fabrication shop. The PLC Mechanic will perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, contributing to the general maintenance of the building(s) and grounds. This role collaborates directly with Maintenance Technicians, machine Operators, Supervisors, and Managers to address both electrical and mechanical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Fully commit to meeting manufacturing goals, safety, quality, and production standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and execute immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on operating and material handling equipment.
- Overhaul and install new equipment, rebuild, weld, and fabricate parts as needed.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs throughout the facility, maintaining a clean and debris-free working area.
- Generate part requests to ensure adequate inventory.
- Complete all assigned projects from work orders promptly.
- Provide mechanical and maintenance-related assistance, including equipment set-up, repairs, construction, and piping installation.
- Report any equipment malfunction and unsafe practices immediately to the supervisor on duty.
- Prioritize work effectively as a problem solver.
- Complete all required reporting and documentation promptly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
- High School GED/Trade School preferred.
- 1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- Proficiency in multiple skill clusters, including electrical controls, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Previous experience in a high-speed industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) preferred.
- Understanding of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Basic work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, due to production demand.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional Certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred.
