Job Title: Lead Commercial HVAC/R Service & Start-Up Technician
Location: Orange County, CA
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and self-motivated Lead Commercial HVAC/R Service & Start-Up Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in installing, commissioning, starting up, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of large commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment within various sectors including pharmaceutical, healthcare, restaurants, office spaces, and industrial buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation, commissioning, and start-up of various commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as air handlers, tube coils, heat exchangers, humidifiers, valves, cooling towers, controls, chillers, heat pumps, fans, boilers, fan coils, and exhaust fans.
- Ensure installations are correct and resolve any warranty claim issues.
- Provide high-quality customer service and foster relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures while performing work duties.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure work is done according to schedule and to the highest standard.
- Document all service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in a timely manner.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
Requirements:
- EPA certification is required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven advanced service, start-up, and commissioning experience with large commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Solid understanding of various HVAC systems, controls, and related equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team or independently as needed.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Able to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A stable work history in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of the Orange County, CA area and its building codes.
