Job Title: Controls Assistant Project Manager

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Summary:

In the heart of Silicon Valley, our San Jose team is expanding, and we are in search of a Controls Assistant Project Manager with a keen interest in building automation controls. With a requirement for at least 2 years of experience in the industry and a proficiency in AutoCAD, this role is pivotal for individuals eager to make a substantial impact in the commercial building automation sector. Ideal candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in engineering and demonstrate expertise in managing complex automation projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior project managers to oversee building automation control projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Facilitate the installation, servicing, start-up, and programming of sophisticated control systems across a variety of commercial environments.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create and revise technical schematics and project designs, ensuring all details accurately meet project specifications.
  • Actively participate in troubleshooting and resolving control system challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including project progress reports, to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the project status.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating project progress and addressing any concerns promptly.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience specializing in building automation controls, with a solid track record of successful project management.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce and modify detailed project drawings and schematics.
  • In-depth knowledge of the processes involved in the installation, servicing, and programming of building automation systems in commercial settings.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • Certifications in industry-standard systems such as Tridium, Niagara, or N4 are a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with teams and clients.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a dedication to quality project outcomes.
