Responsibilities
Manage and oversee payroll processing for union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
Administer benefits programs by union agreements, including health, retirement, and welfare plans.
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws, certified payroll reporting, and multi-state payroll tax regulations.
Serve as the primary liaison between payroll, HR, finance, and union representatives to resolve payroll and benefits-related issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and union regulations to ensure payroll compliance.
Assist with audits, reporting, and recordkeeping related to payroll and benefits administration.
Develop and implement process improvements for payroll efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, or HR compliance, preferably in a unionized construction environment.
Strong knowledge of union payroll processing, collective bargaining agreements, and prevailing wage laws.
Experience with multi-state payroll, tax laws, and certified payroll reporting.
Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems (ADP, Paycom, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various departments and union representatives.
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local labor regulations.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in the HVAC, construction, or manufacturing industries.
HR or payroll certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, CPP) is a plus.
Familiarity with union trust fund contributions and certified payroll reporting requirements.
