We seek a highly skilled and experienced BAS/Controls Sr. Technician to join our Critical Facilities team in Manassas, VA. This key role involves executing start-up functions on mechanical systems, analyzing building control systems' performance, and ensuring accurate and complete documentation. The ideal candidate will provide project-engineering support, troubleshoot software and equipment problems, and train others in building automation systems usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute start-up functions on mechanical systems based on project plans and specifications.
- Conduct performance analysis of building control systems at the individual building level.
- Utilize building automation programs for trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, system backups, user interface graphics, and more.
- Understand and modify DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming.
- Perform point-to-point checkout of DDC and PLC components.
- Commission building control systems and execute field changes/directives efficiently.
- Train peers and owner/operators on critical responsibilities and building automation systems usage.
- Maintain clear and updated field documentation, including as-built drawing sets, project checkout sheets, and UL Panel Tags.
- Proven troubleshooting skills with a high level of computer hardware and software proficiency.
- Extensive knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Strong interactive and communication skills.
- AA degree in applied technology or equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant military experience.
- Desired experience in computer programming, building mechanical systems, electronics, and basic electrical circuits.
- Solid mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting experience.
- Local and stable work history is a must.
