Assistant Project Manager, Commercial Building Automation Systems

Summary
Join a dynamic and evolving field of commercial building automation in a crucial role as Assistant Project Manager. This position calls for a proactive individual with a robust background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a proven track record in project management, sales, and estimation. You will play an essential role in overseeing the installation, service, and programming of cutting-edge control systems in commercial infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet all technical requirements, budgets, and timelines.
- Systems Expertise: Utilize knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio in designing and managing projects involving BACnet and DDC controls. Experience with control systems such as Tritium, Dystype, Niagara, ALC, Allerton, Johnson Controls, Metasys, and Schneider Electric systems is highly valued.
- Sales and Estimation: Drive the sales process by developing effective proposals and estimates, demonstrating an understanding of client needs and project feasibility.
- Training and Development: Engage in continuous learning and training on the latest technologies and systems, including obtaining certifications like Distech Tridium Niagara and N4.
- Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE). An EIT or PE license is preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least three years of relevant experience in a similar role within the commercial mechanical construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and Visio. Familiarity with BACnet, DDC controls, and various commercial control systems.
- Certifications: Distech Tridium Niagara training and N4 certification are advantageous.
- Professional Skills: Exceptional capabilities in sales, client relationship management, and project estimation.
- Personal Qualities: Strong commitment to stable work history and local community involvement.
