Job Title: Senior BAS Sales/Account Executive
Location: Portland, OR

Job Summary
We seek an experienced Senior BAS Sales/Account Executive to lead business development and client relationship efforts in the commercial mechanical construction sector. This role will focus on growing our market presence by developing new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and building long-lasting client relationships. You will employ a consultative sales approach, leveraging industry-leading building automation technologies such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, and BACnet to deliver comprehensive solutions that reduce operational costs and optimize building performance. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect for new clients within vertical and horizontal markets, growing the company's client base and market presence. Utilize consultative selling methods, including SPIN and Challenger Sales processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. 
  • Apply a deep understanding of BACnet, Tridium Niagara, Distech, and other building automation systems to assess client needs, estimate project scope, and provide solutions. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution, from design to commissioning.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure clients understand the total value of offered services, including HVAC, lighting, and control integration.
  • Participate in local industry associations such as BOMA, IFMA, and ASHRAE. Conduct lunch-and-learn sessions with consulting engineers to position leading BAS products in project specifications.
Qualifications
  • A proven track record of stability and success in similar roles within the Portland, OR, area.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred but optional.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in building automation system sales, precisely BACnet controls, Tridium Niagara, and Distech systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of DDC controls, HVAC, lighting systems, and integration technologies. Understanding of Ethernet networks and DDC control theory is highly desirable.
  • Business-to-business solid sales skills, with the ability to foster growth within existing accounts and penetrate new markets. Skilled in CRM software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with the design-build process, plan, and specification work, and capable of collaborating with engineering teams for project success.
Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in consultative selling (SPIN or Challenger Sales methodologies).
  • Familiarity with large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings.
  • Experience with energy management systems, LED lighting upgrades, and complete project lifecycle management.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Active involvement in local industry organizations, focusing on advancing company presence and thought leadership.
