Job Title: Fire and Life Safety Sales Executive

Job Overview
As a Fire and Life Safety Sales Executive, you will drive sales and business development within the commercial fire and life safety sector. You will manage the scope development of fire and life safety solutions for the Nebraska and Iowa markets, working closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver tailored proposals. In this position, you will be responsible for building long-term relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction by providing expert guidance on fire alarm systems and life safety standards. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and develop fire and life safety solutions by interpreting customer requirements from drawings, specifications, and meetings, providing cost-effective alternatives where necessary.
  • Act as a consultant to customers, understanding their needs and recommending solutions to enhance the performance of building systems. 
  • Proactively develop new business opportunities in crucial healthcare, education, and government verticals.
  • Drive solution sales by developing a robust pipeline of opportunities, forecasting orders, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Work closely with estimators and operations teams to ensure project success.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market developments, particularly in fire alarm systems and life safety standards such as IFC, IBC, and NFPA.
  • Allocate at least 50% of the time to in-person customer interactions, including site visits and meetings, ensuring top-tier service and solutions delivery.
Top Qualifications
  • 2+ years as a Sales Executive or 5+ years as an Account Executive in sales or business development within the commercial fire/life safety or construction sectors.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems, familiar with industry standards (IFC, IBC, NFPA).
  • Experience with fire alarm design and selling to electrical contractors is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A local and stable work history, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel as needed are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with electrical and fire protection engineers, especially in healthcare, education, or government verticals.
  • Prior experience with fire alarm system design and integration services is a plus.
