Job Summary
We seek an experienced Senior BAS (Building Automation Systems) Service Technician to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with building automation controls for HVAC equipment in commercial settings, particularly in data centers, labs, hospitals, and central plants. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing complex HVAC control systems to ensure energy efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installed, maintained, troubleshot, and repaired BAS control systems for HVAC equipment in commercial buildings, including data centers, labs, hospitals, and facilities with central plants.
  • Work with various building automation control systems, focusing on integrating HVAC equipment like chillers, boilers, air handling units, and sizeable applied HVAC systems.
  • Perform diagnostics, system analysis, and performance optimization to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
  • Interface with clients to address system issues, recommend solutions, and implement upgrades or repairs.
  • Collaborate with other service technicians, project managers, and engineers to ensure successful system operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on BAS-related issues and system functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, installations, repairs, and upgrades in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with BAS systems, particularly in commercial buildings such as data centers, labs, hospitals, and facilities with central plants.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining building automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and related electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for energy efficiency, control integration, and BAS protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with solid communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data centers, labs, or hospital HVAC control systems.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Niagara Certification, Tridium, or Siemens Industry certification, are highly desirable.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (engineering, controls, or HVAC) is a plus.
