Assistant Project Manager - Building Automation for HVAC Equipment, San Jose, CA
Summary
As an integral part of the commercial mechanical construction industry, the Assistant Project Manager is essential for driving the advancement of building automation systems within HVAC equipment in commercial settings. This role is based in the vibrant San Jose area and is perfect for professionals with a deep understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will bring a dynamic mix of technical proficiency in CAD and Visio, hands-on experience in installation, service programming, and a strategic approach to project management.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Execution: Oversee the lifecycle of building automation projects, from initiation through completion, ensuring projects meet quality, time, and budgetary benchmarks.
Technical Implementation: Apply technical skills in CAD and Visio to design, modify, and oversee the installation of HVAC control systems.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align project objectives and enhance efficiency, involving direct coordination with external contractors and stakeholders.
Performance Optimization: Utilize expertise in building automation to recommend improvements and innovations in the management of HVAC systems.
Client Relations and Communication: Maintain proactive communication with clients and team members, ensuring transparency and effective management of expectations throughout project phases.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required. EIT or PE licensure is highly advantageous.
Relevant Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a related role, ideally within the San Francisco Bay Area. Experience with leading companies such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Schneider Electric is a plus.
Technical Proficiencies: Demonstrated ability in using CAD and Visio. Experience in installation, service programming, and project management of HVAC systems is essential.
Additional Skills: Strong capabilities in sales, estimating, and strategic project management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and internal teams.
