Job Summary
We seek a proactive and detail-driven Plumbing Buyer to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will oversee the procurement of plumbing parts, materials, and equipment for commercial construction projects. Working closely with distributors and internal departments, you'll ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with project demands and company standards. Key Responsibilities
Review project Purchase Orders and accurately prepare and place orders for plumbing parts, fixtures, and equipment.
Maintain strong relationships with distributors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure seamless procurement operations.
Research vendors and evaluate product offerings based on specifications, quality, pricing, availability, and compliance with project requirements.
Assist with project estimates, cost analysis, purchasing timelines, and job cost tracking.
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors, ensuring consistency in product pricing, invoicing, and delivery expectations.
Monitor inventory levels and forecasts to align purchasing decisions with project schedules and company needs.
Review and reconcile monthly vendor statements for accuracy before invoice processing.
Communicate regularly with vendors and partners to address product availability, delivery issues, and performance.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial plumbing purchasing
Strong expertise in inventory monitoring and forecasting
Familiarity with the wholesale and distribution channel within the plumbing or mechanical trades
Excellent attention to detail, negotiation, and vendor relationship management skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
A stable and local work history is preferred
