Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Preconstruction Engineer to join our team in Orange County. Your role will be integral, bringing your strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in design, project management, or preconstruction within the mechanical contracting industry. Candidates with extensive project experience in plumbing, piping, and HVAC, particularly in laboratory and mechanical piping-heavy projects, will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams during the preconstruction phase to develop comprehensive mechanical designs, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to design and evaluate HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems for large-scale projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines to meet project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation for preconstruction projects.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and delivery schedules for materials and equipment.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to mechanical systems during the preconstruction phase.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EIT or PE licenses are preferred but not required.
  • Stable work history with significant experience in design and engineering, project management, or preconstruction for a mechanical contractor.
  • Extensive project experience in plumbing, piping, and HVAC, particularly in laboratory environments and projects with a heavy focus on mechanical piping.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and project management tools).
