Job Overview
As the Manufacturing Safety Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving a solid safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance within the organization. This role demands a proactive leader who can design, implement, and oversee comprehensive Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) programs. You will be instrumental in preventing injuries, mitigating health risks, and ensuring a safe working environment while strictly adhering to OSHA, EPA, state, and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and manage EH&S compliance policies, procedures, and management systems to maintain safety and environmental integrity.
- Training and Development: Design and facilitate training programs related to safety, health, and environmental standards to foster a knowledgeable and compliant workforce.
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local environmental and safety agencies. Keep current with regulatory changes and ensure timely compliance submissions.
- Incident and Risk Management: Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting in collaboration with HR. Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and gaps within safety systems.
- Data Analysis and Hazard Control: Analyze occupational and environmental health data concerning chemical exposure, noise, ergonomics, etc. Develop controls and strategies to minimize risks and ensure a safe workplace.
- Minimum of four years in a manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in a heavy industrial setting is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working with OSHA regulations and managing compliance standards is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) for adequate documentation and reporting.
- Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
