Job Overview
The Manufacturing Safety Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive safety culture within the organization. In this role, you will implement safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations. As a key technical advisor to management, you will be instrumental in preventing workplace injuries and promoting a healthy work environment by conducting risk assessments and continuously improving safety management systems. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in industrial safety and a passion for promoting a safety-first mindset throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Program Development & Implementation: Design, maintain, and improve Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Training & Employee Development: Identify and facilitate training programs on safety protocols, environmental hazards, and emergency procedures to equip all employees with the knowledge to work safely.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for all interactions with federal, state, and local environmental and safety agencies, ensuring all regulatory submissions are accurate and timely.
  • Incident Investigation & Risk Assessment: Lead investigations of workplace injuries and incidents, collaborate with HR for accurate reporting, and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to address potential safety gaps.
  • Hazard Management & Monitoring: Develop strategies to control exposure to hazardous materials and environmental impacts, manage safety data sheets (SDS), and enforce waste disposal practices by ISO standards.
Qualifications
  • At least four years of occupational safety experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, is preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety management systems and experience managing environmental programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), able to analyze safety data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of reliability and stable employment in similar regional roles.
