Job Title: Lead Mechanical/HVAC Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to join our dynamic team in Santa Monica, CA. This is a leadership role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and is passionate about designing innovative mechanical systems for diverse commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge designs and ensure top-tier project delivery for HVAC and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, residential, and multi-family projects. Ensure designs meet client needs, budgets, and schedules.
  • Supervise and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and production staff to ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient project execution.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact for mechanically focused projects.
  • Manage work plans, budgets, and schedules for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
  • Provide technical expertise during construction phases, including resolving issues, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with other disciplines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Coursework or certifications in HVAC or plumbing systems are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Strong background in consulting engineering or architectural engineering firms.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word, and MS Excel. Familiarity with tools like Navisworks, Trimble AutoBid, and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • LEED Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and fostering strong client relationships through excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A stable track record of employment with a focus on Southern California projects is required.
