Job Title: Energy Management Controls Technician

Overview:

We are seeking an Energy Management Controls Technician to join our innovative team in Omaha, NE. This crucial role involves operating and maintaining our campus energy management and control systems to ensure efficient and sustainable operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining control systems, with a passion for energy conservation and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electronic control systems across various facilities.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections on completed jobs to ensure adherence to institutional standards and specifications.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing energy consumption data to identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct inspections of construction work in progress, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Collaborate on Energy Services project development and delivery, focusing on sustainable and efficient solutions.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of test equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
  • Utilize building energy management computer systems to optimize performance and conserve energy.
  • Lead the commissioning efforts for new and existing systems, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; at least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • In-depth knowledge of instrument calibration standards and tolerances.
  • Proficient in using testing and metering equipment to verify energy savings and validate meter readings.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, for clear interaction with clients and team members.

Preferred:
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution in a related field may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management principles related to inventory control.
