Job Summary
We're seeking a Controls Service Technician in Omaha, NE, to support the commercial mechanical construction industry. This role focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and optimizing direct digital controls (DDC) and programmable logic controllers (PLC) that drive advanced HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with building automation platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, Bacnet, Trane, and Schneider Electric to install, troubleshoot, and optimize performance.
- Program, configure, and test control systems for HVAC, chillers, boilers, and other commercial mechanical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Utilize Bluebeam, MS Project, and Trimble AutoBid for project documentation, system reporting, and workflow coordination.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to integrate automation systems with mechanical infrastructure.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, programming, and servicing DDC and PLC systems within the commercial mechanical construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems (Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Bacnet, Schneider Electric, and Trane).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Trimble AutoBid for system design and documentation.
- Local and stable work history in Omaha, NE, with a strong understanding of regional commercial construction standards.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and clients.
