Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chiller Mechanic/Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate should be a local professional with a stable work history, possess EPA Universal certification, maintain a clean driving record, and have over 5 years of hands-on experience in servicing, repairing, and tearing down various types of chillers. In addition to chiller expertise, the candidate should be adept at diagnosing and repairing large rooftop units (RTUs) ranging from 20 to 200+ tons, boilers, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, and other significant mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Chiller Service and Repair: Perform maintenance, service, repair, and teardown of air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, and centrifugal chillers.
  • Large RTU Diagnostics and Repair: Diagnose and repair large rooftop units (RTUs) with capacities ranging from 20 to 200+ tons.
  • Boiler Expertise: Conduct service and repair tasks on boilers as part of the HVAC system.
  • VRF Systems: Diagnose and repair Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems.
  • Manufacturer Training: Utilize knowledge gained from manufacturer training and certifications, particularly from Johnson Controls, Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, or other relevant certifications.
  • Equipment Expertise: Work on a variety of large mechanical equipment beyond chillers, including but not limited to pumps, air handlers, and controls systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the performance of job duties.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and equipment maintenance.
  • Client Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with clients, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chiller service, repair, and teardown.
  • EPA Universal Certification is required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and repairing large RTUs (20-200+ tons), boilers, VRF systems, and other significant HVAC equipment.
  • Manufacturer training and certifications from Johnson Controls, Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Local candidate with a stable work history.
