Job Title: Controls Project Manager
Location: Reno, NV

Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to lead the design, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems (BAS) for commercial mechanical projects in Reno. If you're technically strong in BACnet and DDC controls and thrive in a fast-paced project environment, you can take ownership and drive success from start to finish.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of BAS and controls projects—from design and procurement to installation and commissioning.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet technical requirements and deadlines.
  • Create, review, and approve control system drawings using AutoCAD, Visio, and Bluebeam.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical leadership on control platforms like Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Metasys, and Schneider Electric.
  • Anticipate and resolve field challenges, ensuring systems are delivered to spec and on time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in BAS or controls project management
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, and Bluebeam; familiarity with MS Project, Revit, Trimble AutoBid, and Navisworks is a plus.
  • Deep working knowledge of BACnet and DDC control systems
  • Hands-on experience with significant automation platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, Alerton, Metasys, and Schneider Electric
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
  • EIT or PE license
  • Experience leading control teams on large-scale commercial projects
  • Background in integrated mechanical/controls coordination
Location & Work Environment
This position is based in Reno, NV, and involves office work and regular site visits to local commercial construction sites.
