Job Summary
We seek a Senior Controls Sales Engineer to lead business development and manage client relationships in the Portland area. This role focuses on driving growth in building automation, energy management, and lighting systems through consultative sales and project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new opportunities in building automation and energy efficiency while expanding relationships with existing clients.
- Use SPIN and Challenger sales techniques to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs and eliminate competitor threats.
- Estimated and managed control projects, working with technical teams on system design, installation, and commissioning.
- Build long-term partnerships by understanding client goals, reducing energy costs, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Represent the company in industry associations (BOMA, IFMA, ASHRAE) and deliver technical presentations to promote solutions.
- 5+ years in building automation (BAS), with expertise in DDC controls, HVAC, and lighting systems.
- Strong sales skills in a business-to-business environment.
- Proficient in BACnet, Tridium Niagara, and CRM tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with large commercial buildings, especially high-rises.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferred, not required).
- Familiarity with Distech and other leading automation systems.
