Job Overview: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Preconstruction Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must be local with a stable work history and a comprehensive understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing design. This role involves a significant amount of sales, estimating, and project management tasks. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our projects are estimated accurately, designed optimally, and executed effectively.
Responsibilities:
Provide preconstruction services, including reviewing project plans, specifications, and contracts.
Use your understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems to develop optimal designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that design objectives are met.
Conduct cost estimation and value engineering tasks to support project budgeting.
Drive sales efforts by working closely with the business development team.
Oversee project management tasks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our preconstruction processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A stable work history demonstrating your dedication and career development.
Current resident of Honolulu, HI, or nearby area.
Professional Engineering (PE) certification or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
Proven experience with commercial HVAC and plumbing design and engineering.
Familiarity with value engineering, estimating, sales, and project management.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
