Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Commercial Plumbing/HVAC Preconstruction Director to join our team in Honolulu, HI. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a local presence, a stable work history, and a proven track record of leadership in commercial plumbing and HVAC design, estimating, and sales for large-scale projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the preconstruction department, overseeing design, estimating, and sales teams.

  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

  • Project Oversight: Oversee the preconstruction phase of large-scale commercial plumbing and HVAC projects from inception to completion.

  • Design and Estimating: Lead the design and estimating processes, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in project bids.

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to secure commercial plumbing and HVAC projects, meeting and exceeding revenue goals.

  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and key stakeholders.

  • Technical Expertise: Bring in-depth knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, codes, and regulations to inform project design and estimates.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Work closely with the finance team to establish budgets, monitor costs, and ensure profitability.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and teams to achieve project and company objectives.

  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and competitive landscapes to inform decision-making.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • EIT or PE License (preferred).

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC design, estimating, and sales.

  • Leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or directorial role.

  • Familiarity with Revit and other relevant design and estimating software.

  • Proven track record of successful large-scale commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

  • Local candidate with a stable work history.

  • Familiarity with the nuances of large commercial projects in the region.
