Job Title: Plumbing/HVAC Estimator
Location: San Diego, CA

Job Overview
We seek a highly skilled Plumbing/HVAC Estimator to join our San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects, including plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems. This role is critical in ensuring project success through precise budgeting and collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze blueprints, construction plans, and project documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates for budgeting, bid preparation, and project planning, particularly for plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to gather necessary project information, identify potential risks, and resolve estimation discrepancies.
  • Supervise and coordinate estimating personnel, ensuring consistency and accuracy in cost assessments and project scopes.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring current market rates and historical data are reflected in future estimates.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and HVAC estimating within the commercial mechanical construction industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation software such as Bluebeam, Trimble AutoBid, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Local and stable work history with a commitment to the San Diego market.
