About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Building Automation Controls Programmer to join our dynamic team. This role is central to the implementation and optimization of building automation systems (BAS) for a range of new and existing projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in programming, commissioning, and overseeing the functional testing of control systems across various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement databases, programs, and graphics for control systems based on engineered drawings and operation sequences.
- Conduct comprehensive startup functions and commission building control and HVAC systems, ensuring all systems operate according to project specifications.
- Oversee and direct field technicians and subcontractors, ensuring quality standards are met and providing expert guidance as needed.
- Manage and update system documentation, including as-built drawings and field check-out sheets.
- Engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues with control components and equipment.
- Lead the training sessions for both clients and peers on system and BAS functionality.
- Assist in project engineering, providing support and coordination in the field.
- Participate in sales processes by providing technical estimates and managing project costs effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building automation controls, with a strong preference for candidates with project management experience in mechanical or electrical construction.
- High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Visio.
- Certifications in Tridium Niagara N4 and Distech are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in managing large-scale projects, preferably in buildings ranging from 250,000 to over 1 million square feet.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship management skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
