Job Title: HVAC Foreman

Summary:
We are currently seeking a seasoned HVAC Foreman for our operations in Salt Lake City, UT. This vital role involves leading the management, maintenance, repair, and installation of complex air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilating systems, including specialized equipment for university research and classroom labs. The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership in planning, assigning, supervising, and participating in the work of air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and helpers. This position requires a proactive approach to ensuring the efficient functioning of all systems and includes responsibilities such as preparing cost estimates for projects and making strategic decisions on work methods and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.

  • Conduct detailed inspections of ongoing work and completed projects to ensure adherence to specifications.

  • Provide technical guidance on the design, installation, and upkeep of mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Keep updated on the latest industry developments to improve equipment installation and maintenance.

  • Recruit, train, and ensure the safety of personnel, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.

  • Establish work performance standards, safety regulations, and maintain inventory levels for necessary supplies.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC system operations, including supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Local residency in Salt Lake City, UT, or willingness to relocate.

  • Demonstrated stable job history, reflecting reliability and dedication.

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems, along with mechanical maintenance and repair practices.

  • Ability to effectively plan, schedule, and supervise the work of both skilled and unskilled workers.

  • Proficiency in estimating labor and material costs for project planning.


Preferred:

  • Certification or advanced degree in a related field.

  • Experience in the design and maintenance of HVAC systems for research and educational facilities.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building cohesive teams.
