Job Title: HVAC Foreman

Job Location: Portland, OR

Summary:
Our Portland, OR-based team is on the lookout for an experienced HVAC Foreman to lead our efforts in maintaining, repairing, and installing air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilating systems, as well as specialized equipment used in university research and classroom laboratories. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic approach to supervising air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and helpers, ensuring the efficient operation of all systems. This role includes planning, assigning, and supervising work, preparing cost estimates for projects, and contributing technical expertise. The HVAC Foreman will play a critical role in upholding our standards of excellence and efficiency in all projects undertaken.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the work of skilled and unskilled workers in the HVAC sector.

  • Conduct thorough inspections and oversee the maintenance of generators, motors, compressors, and controls.

  • Provide technical advice for the design, installation, and maintenance of HVAC systems.

  • Keep abreast of developments in the field to enhance service quality.

  • Recruit, train, and ensure the safety of all personnel involved in operations.

  • Enforce safety regulations and work performance standards.

  • Manage stock levels of necessary parts and supplies.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the HVAC industry, including supervisory roles.

  • Must be a local resident of Portland, OR, or willing to relocate.

  • Demonstrated stable job history.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance, and repair practices.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, including plans, sketches, and blueprints.

  • Ability to estimate labor and material costs effectively.

  • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining labor and material records.


Preferred:

  • Advanced training or certifications in HVAC systems.

  • Experience with HVAC systems in research and educational settings.

  • Demonstrated leadership in a team environment with excellent communication skills.
