Summary
We seek an experienced Building Automation Assistant Controls Project Manager to join our San Francisco, CA team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth integration and operation of control systems in commercial mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid mechanical or electrical engineering background, hands-on experience with control systems, and the ability to manage project timelines effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead project manager in overseeing the planning, execution, and closeout phases of building automation and controls projects.
- Work with control systems, including BACnet, DDC, and advanced platforms like Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, and Johnson Controls Metasys to ensure proper functionality and seamless integration.
- Use AutoCAD, Visio, and related design software to produce and review control system schematics and layouts.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure control systems are installed according to specifications and project timelines.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, system drawings, and schedules using project management tools like MS Project and Bluebeam.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in building automation controls or a related field, with a demonstrated stable work history in the industry.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering is required. EIT or PE license is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Visio and familiarity with control systems such as BACnet and DDC controls.
- Experience with Tridium, Distech, Niagara, ALC, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, and other related control platforms.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Bluebeam, and the ability to read and interpret system schematics and drawings.
- Familiarity with the San Francisco market and building codes is preferred.
