Job Title: BAS/Controls Senior Technician
Location: Portland, OR
Overview
We seek a highly skilled and experienced BAS/Controls Senior Technician to join our Critical Facilities team in Portland, OR. This pivotal role involves starting up, commissioning, and troubleshooting building control systems, ensuring optimal performance and documentation accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Execute start-up functions for mechanical systems based on project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Commission building control systems to ensure they operate efficiently and meet project requirements.
Analyze the performance of building control systems and troubleshoot software, component, and equipment problems. Make minor modifications to existing DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs as needed.
Maintain clear and updated field documentation, including as-built drawing sets, project check-out sheets, and UL Panel Tags. Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Collaborate with project engineers and other Critical Facilities team members on various field tasks and coordination. Provide engineering support as needed and execute field changes/directives efficiently.
Train peers and owner/operators on critical responsibilities and building automation systems usage. Share knowledge and expertise to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications
AA degree in applied technology or equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant military experience. Computer programming and building mechanical system experience are desired.
Proficient in building automation programs and features, including trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, system back-ups, and user interface graphics. Strong knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications.
Proven ability to troubleshoot software, component, and equipment problems. Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
Ability to work independently and unsupervised, managing time effectively to complete assignments on time and within budget.
Excellent interactive and communication skills, with the ability to train others and maintain clear documentation.
