Title: Plumbing/HVAC Project Manager

Location: Orange County, CA

Overview:

As a leading figure in the commercial plumbing and HVAC industry, we seek a skilled Plumbing/HVAC Project Manager to join our team. This role requires technical expertise, leadership, and project management acumen to oversee large-scale projects in diverse settings, including hospitals, data centers, and educational institutions. Your leadership will drive the success of our projects in the Orange County, Los Angeles, and Riverside regions, aligning with our goals for profit and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the construction process for assigned projects, including procurement, financial management, change order management, submittals/RFIs, and daily project leadership.
  • Develop internal project schedules to meet owner and general contractor requirements.
  • Create and present written change order proposals to customers.
  • Engage with various customer types, including owners, tenants, developers, and general contractors.
  • Utilize various project delivery methods (plan & spec, design-build, design-assist, etc.).
  • Lead project teams from kick-off through closeout meetings, supporting our trades with necessary information for timely and correct installations.
  • Support Sales with constructability reviews at the project start.
  • Represent the company in professional meetings and maintain ongoing relationships with customers and internal team members.
  • Participate in marketing events and customer interactions and generate new prospective customers.

Areas of Focus:

  • Develop familiarity with systems, components, and materials in our business.
  • Understand design principles for HVAC, plumbing, controls, and process piping for preliminary/conceptual designs.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry codes, standards, trends, and technologies.
  • Get involved in trade and professional organizations and societies.
  • Continuous personal and professional development through company-provided training.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of commercial construction experience in related industries (pharmaceutical, life science, hospitals, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or related field. E.I.T. certification preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.

Preferred Skill Sets:

  • Expertise in Bluebeam and other construction estimating and scheduling software.
  • Experience with medical gas systems in hospital settings.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
