Job Title: Controls Assistant Project Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Summary
We seek an experienced and motivated Controls Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless integration, installation, and management of building automation and control systems in large commercial mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering and hands-on experience in BACnet and DDC controls.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing project scope, schedule, and budget for building automation systems (BAS) and controls projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Collaborate with senior project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design, installation, and commissioning of control systems, including Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, Alerton, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
Review design documentation and provide feedback using AutoCAD and Visio to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper installation of DDC controls, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols on job sites, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. An EIT or PE license is a plus but not required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or related roles within the commercial mechanical construction or building automation sectors.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Visio for creating and reviewing control system designs.
Strong working knowledge of BACnet and DDC and experience with systems such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, and Metasys.
Stable work history with local project experience in the Chicago area.
