Job Title: Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Location: Astoria, OR

Overview: We are currently seeking a talented Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team in Astoria, OR. This crucial position involves conducting maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing a variety of refrigeration systems and temperature-controlled units primarily utilized in the food retail industry. Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diverse refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature units.
  • Accurately diagnose and resolve problems with refrigeration racks or single-unit systems, including performing leak repairs, component replacements, and overseeing new system installations.
  • Construct and install necessary supports and piping in compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment for precise repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Efficiently manage and document service tickets and project details, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Maintain a well-organized and adequately stocked service vehicle, adhering to maintenance schedules and safety protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and effectively communicating technical details.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of field experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, or 3 years with a Technical School Certification in HVAC-R.
  • Proven skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical schematics and basic electrical principles.
  • Skilled in the safe handling of refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
  • Must be a local resident of Astoria, OR, or willing to relocate, with a stable and consistent work history.

Preferred:
  • HVAC-R Technical School Degree.
  • Experience with specific brands and models of refrigeration systems.
