Job Title: Building Automation/Data Center DDC Programmer
Location: Chicago, IL

Job Overview
We seek a highly skilled Building Automation/Data Center DDC Programmer to join our Chicago, IL team. This role involves programming and optimizing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for building automation and data center environments, including HVAC controls and energy management systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in integrating, troubleshooting, and commissioning systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize DDC systems for HVAC, chillers, boilers, and energy management in commercial and data center settings.
  • Configure and integrate Building Automation Systems (BAS) platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, Bacnet, Trane, and Schneider Electric to meet client requirements.
  • Lead the commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of automation systems, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to design and review technical documentation, specifications, and sequences of operations.
  • Provide post-installation support, software updates, and system optimization to maintain performance and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience in building automation and DDC programming.
  • Proven experience with DDC programming in commercial mechanical construction.
  • Strong knowledge of BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys), DDC programming languages, and software tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Trimble AutoBid.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues and implement efficient solutions.
  • A stable work history with experience in the Chicago, IL region or similar metropolitan areas.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with data center-specific automation requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Knowledge of structured programming methodologies, including ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text programming.
  • Experience with HMI development and SQL database management.
