Have you been laid off, fired, or left a company due to whatever circumstances? Most of us turn to popular job boards, such as Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor, etc. Most of them require you to make an account, which allows you to easily one-click apply to multiple jobs in minutes. These job boards have become the foundation for getting hired quickly and efficiently.
While the job boards are beneficial, they send out a surplus of emails regarding newly posted positions that coincide with your resume. When looking for a new job, this opt-in email feature is incredible as you will be one of the first people to apply to the available positions. However, you don’t need the emails anymore once you get hired.
Here’s how to opt-out/unsubscribe from job boards:
Go to the most recent email they have sent you. If you scroll down to the bottom of the email, there should be an “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” button. Once you click on the button, some companies require further steps, such as answering why you want to opt out of the emails or completing a survey about your experience using their job board. The key here is to ensure that you finish each question and survey. Once you have completed these steps, a screen stating you’ve unsubscribed from further emails from the company should pop up. On the off chance that, after these steps, you still receive emails from the job boards, contact the company directly for further assistance.
